PKM Pemberdayaan Masyarakat Inovasi Urban Farming Berbasis Smart Farming Pada Lahan Terbatas

Limited agricultural land in urban areas poses a major challenge to achieving household food security. This Community Service Program (PKM) aims to implement smart farming–based urban farming innovations on limited land to improve crop productivity, resource-use efficiency, and community technological literacy. The program methods included needs assessment, socialization, technical training, mentoring, as well as monitoring and evaluation. The implemented smart farming system consisted of hydroponic and verticulture installations equipped with sensor-based automatic irrigation. The results showed an increase in participants’ knowledge and skills, improved water-use efficiency, and more optimal plant growth. This program demonstrates that the integration of simple technologies into urban farming is effective in supporting household food security and sustainable urban agriculture.
